Adam R. Burkey, MD, MSCE, DABMA
Dr. Burkey is a graduate of Williams College in Massachusetts and received his medical degree from Georgetown University. He did a residency in neurology at Washington University in St. Louis and sub-specialty training in pain management at the University of Pennsylvania, where he worked as an attending for nearly eight years. As a medical student he completed two years of basic research training in pain mechanisms through a Howard Hughes Medical Institute fellowship, and completed a Master’s in clinical research while at Penn. He is also licensed and boarded in medical acupuncture.
Dr. Burkeys’ practice involves the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic pain conditions, with a special interest in spine pain, neuropathic pain and pain with cancer. He is experienced with all standard interventional pain procedures – injections and implantable pain therapies – provided in a multidisciplinary context. He has been awarded Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor from Jefferson University, Department of Neurology.
